Tommy "Beet" Hutson

Tommy “Beet” M. Hutson, 81, of Clemmons, died Friday January 19, 2018 at his home. A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday January 24, 2018 at Oak forest United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Julie R. Wilburn Peeler and Rev. Darren Alexander officiating services.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery will military graveside rites.   The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesday at the church. Mr. Hutson was born July 7, 1936 in Brookhaven Mississippi to Robert Earl Hutson and Nelsie Marie Laird Hutson. He was a member of the United States Army for 32 years and obtained rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Hutson was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Patti Hutson; three brothers, Benny Hutson, Larry Hutson and Kenny Hutson; and a sister, Joan Bland.   Surviving is his wife, Peggy Hutson of the home; a son Mark Hutson of Lexington; one brother, Bobby Hutson and wife Sarah of Brandon Mississippi; 2 grandchildren, Zach Hutson and Taylor Hutson and their mother Terri Hutson.   Memorials may be made to Oak Forest United Methodist Church Building Fund 11461 Old Hwy 52, Winston Salem NC 27107 or donor’s Choice.   Davidson funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
