Tommy Joe Johnson, age 78, of South Hargrave Street, Lexington passed away Friday afternoon. Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Monday, January 9, 2012 at Lexington City Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Knight officiating. Burial will follow.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 9:30 until 10:30 am Monday, prior to the service.
Tommy was born in Davidson County, March 26, 1933 to Corbett “Carb” Lee Johnson and Viola Perryman Johnson. He was a retired employee of PMI. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War, member of VFW Post 3074, American Legion Post 8 and Amvets Post 13. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ellen Marie Smith Johnson; his sisters, Maxine Wampler and Sylveena Johnson; brothers, C.L. Johnson and Roland (Petie) Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Huneycutt Johnson; step daughters, Ann Hollins of Morehead City; Faye Huff of Newport, NC; step-son, Charlie Perryman of Raeford, NC; niece, Patricia Potts of Rockwell; nephews, Raymond, Wayne and Stanley Wampler all of Lexington and Bill Wampler of Colleyville, TX; 6 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren.
