Tommy Dean Lanier

Tommy Dean Lanier, 70, of Old U.S. Highway 64 West, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at his home after a year of declining health. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Gary Foster. Burial will follow in Fulton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Lanier was born May 1, 1936, in Davie County to Donald Laffayette Lanier and Ella Lloyd Lanier. A former employee of Dixie Furniture with 46 years service, he was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Melvin Lanier, Garland Lanier, Ed Lanier, Bill Lanier and Burl Lanier, and three sisters, Carolyn "Sis" Williams, Martha Hayes and Jean Cornatzer. Surviving are one daughter, Beverly Hill and her husband, Charles, of Lexington; one grandchild, Ashley Church and her husband, Eric, of Cornelius; and two sisters, Bertie Lanier Foster and her husband, Bruce, of Reeds and Joyce Jones and her husband, Gene, of Advance. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O.
