Thomas Edward Martin, 75, of Old Salisbury Road, Linwood, died Friday, January 1 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 5 at Forest Hill Memorial Park, by the Rev. Randy Foster.

Mr. Martin will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 9-10:30am Tuesday prior to the service.

Mr. Martin was born January 7, 1945 in Catawaba County to James Christopher Martin Sr. and Martha Pearl Davis Martin. He was a corporate officer of Transit Damaged Frieght and a member of Tyro United Methodist Church. His parents, his brother, James Christopher Martin, Jr., and his step-mother, Mary Belle Walsh Martin, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Belinda Kay Edwards Martin of the home; his sons, Tommy “Derek” Martin (Dannell) of Linwood, and Edward “Shane” Martin (Kristi) of Harrisburg; his brothers, Jerry Martin (Allowayne) of Lexington and Randy Martin (Cathy) of Linwood; his sister, Tracie Landreth (Micky) of Linwood; and two grandchildren, Keely Moore (Spencer) and Ozzie Ross Martin (Grace).

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Tyro United Methodist Church, 4484 S. NC Hwy 150, Lexington NC 27295 or to Trellis Supportive Care, 301 S. Main St, Suite 105, Salisbury NC 28144.
