Tommy Mcdade

Carroll Thomas “Tommy” McDade, Jr, a Veteran, age 68 of Lexington, NC passed away on January 25, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Monday, January 29th at Center Church of Welcome in Welcome, NC. Visitation will be held in the church sanctuary from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service.

Tommy was born in Lexington, NC on October 10, 1955 to Carroll Thomas McDade Sr. and Jewell McCrary McDade. In 1955 he won Lexington`s prettiest baby boy of the year contest. He was in the 1973 graduating class of Lexington Senior High School before enlisting in the U.S Army where he served as a Medic. In his early career he was an EMT for Davidson County EMS. He owned and operated CTM Landscaping.

Tommy enjoyed Cooking, Golfing, Fishing and spending time with his family and many friends. If you knew Tommy you couldn’t help but love him. He was affectionately known as “Papa Tom” to his family and “Big Mac” to his friends. Anytime you were around Tommy he could always put a smile on your face.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carroll Thomas McDade Sr. and Jewell McCrary McDade.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Megan Brown and husband James of Walnut Cove; son Taylor McDade of Charlotte; daughters Jessica McDade of Burlington and Rachel McDade of Raleigh; Sisters Cathy McDade Horton (Owen ‘T’) and Kim McDade Pitts (Eddie); Grandchildren Sarah Ann McDade (Ben), Kateland McDade (Seth), Mia McDade, Emily Brown, Natalie Brown, Lily Brown;Great-Grandchildren Charleigh Grace Thompson and Kingston Thomas Passmore; Nephews and Nieces Allyson Parks, Joshua Parks (Mikla), Camden Burnette (Gisel), Gavyn Williams, Hannah Bower (Mike), Cy Horton (Kristina), Katy Parker (Dave), Johnathon Pitts (Paige), Jennifer Hanopole, Isabelle Bower, Mason Hanopole, Amelia Parker, Luna Parker, Carl Pitts, Luke Pitts.
