Thomas Ronnie Mock, Jr., a devoted family man and a pillar of hard work and humility, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. He was 86.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Tommy’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born to Thomas Ronnie Mock, Sr. and Edna Hinkle Mock, Tommy grew up on the family farm, embracing a life of simplicity and dedication. A true embodiment of the values instilled in a farmer’s child, he carried forward his family's legacy as the owner and operator of Mock Sand Company while continuing to live and work on the family farm. Tommy was the definition of a simple man who found joy in the everyday blessings of life. Known for his kindness and helpful nature, he touched the lives of all who knew him. A loving brother, uncle, and loyal friend, his life was filled with a quiet happiness that reflected his generous spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Legena Perrell Forrest; her son, Stevie Daniels; his sisters, Evelyn Mock Cooper and Barbara Mock Carter (Chris); his niece, Linda Hendrix Sager; his nephew, the Rev. John Edward Perrell; and Chris Carter.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Reba Mock Perrell (Gene); nieces, Faye Graham (Mike), Rita Huffman (Allen), Jane Carter, Wendy Hughes (Greg), and Lia Carter; nephews, Corbin Carter (Heather), Christopher Carter (Michelle), Todd Hendrix (Gail), and Garth Perrell (Lynda); and Legena’s children, Wendy Moon (Robert), and Donald Daniels (Missy); and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Daniels. He also leaves behind a host of cherished friends and neighbors.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his special caregivers, Faye and Janie, for their loving care and support.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Hope Church Cemetery Fund at 10253 Hampton Rd, Lexington, NC 27295.
