Tommy Warfford

Howard Thomas “Tommy” Warfford, 91, of H. L. Palmer Road, died Tuesday, March 22 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at 3pm Saturday, March 26 at Holloways Baptist Church, by the Rev. Craig Barnhill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 3pm Saturday prior to the service and other times will be at the residence. Mr. Warfford was born March 9, 1931 in Davidson County to James Arthur Warfford and Arline Styers Warfford. He retired from Duracell Battery and later worked in the family business, Warfford Machine Shop in Denton. He was a longtime, faithful member of Holloways Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was known for his warm smile and his ability to fix anything. His sister, Mary Lee Clayton, and his brother, James Warfford, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Palmer Warfford of the home; his son, Jeffrey Warfford and wife, Carol, of Simpsonville, SC; his brothers, Joe Warfford, and Bobby Warfford; and his grandchildren, Noelle Warfford of Toledo, Ohio and Andy Warfford of Simpsonville, SC In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Holloways Baptist Church Building Fund, 131 Briggs Road, Lexington, NC 27292 Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
