Tonya Hege Buie

Tonya Hege Buie, 63 of Courtney Lane, Welcome went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday evening at her home. Mrs. Buie was born February 4, 1944 in Davidson County to Phillip Eldridge Hege and Mary Frances Hege. She retired in 1998 as co-owner and operator of B&W Metal Fabricators in Welcome. Mrs. Buie was a member of Pilgrim Reformed Church, where she was a member of the Ida Conrad Sunday School Class and the Jackie Farabee Bible Study. Mrs. Buie is survived by her husband Joseph “Joe” Thomas Buie Jr., of the home; a son Tim Buie and wife Patryce Britton of Raleigh, a daughter Nikki Jo Buie Kates and husband Todd of Welcome; a sister Sylvia Craver and husband Ray of Welcome; a brother Terry Hege and wife Betty of Lexington; and three grandchildren Logan Kates, J.T. Kates, and Simon Buie. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Pilgrim Reformed Church, with Rev. George Fidler and Rev. Rosser Clapp officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, PO Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293 or to Pilgrim Reformed Church, 797 Pilgrim Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
