Treavie Weaver

February 19, 1933 — September 15, 2021

Treavie Mae Younts Weaver, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at home, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on February 19, 1933 in Reedy Creek, North Carolina, to Wade Oscar Younts and Mary Lou Walser.  Treavie was an ardent student at Arcadia High School in Lexington, where she was a member of the Future Homemakers of America and captain of the girl’s basketball team. She worked at Hanes for 40 years before retiring, though her work day was far from over when she clocked out. Treavie started farming as soon as she could walk and continued to do so as long as she was able. She preferred to be outside in the garden, but wherever she was you could bet that she was working tirelessly, and she was rarely seen sitting down. Treavie was a devoted wife and had three kids, but was a mothering figure to all. Her selfless, loving nature showed through in everything she did, and she often reminded us “Where there’s life, there’s hope.” She knew how to be a good friend, no task or worry was too big or small because she genuinely wanted to help make life easier for those around her.  She was a long time, active member of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Center United Methodist Church in Welcome.

Treavie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ray Von Weaver; her parents; half-brother, Phillip Odell Byerly; brothers, Floyd Lee Younts, Glenn Junior Younts; and a sister, Dorothy Younts Byerly.

Surviving are her brother, Calvin Arthur Younts (Eva); daughters, Lucinda Call (Tracy) and Tina Ingalls (Ronnie); a son, Joel Von Weaver (Shelia); grandchildren Kenneth Call, Steven Call, Andrea Weaver, Jessica Ingalls, and Joshua Weaver (Brittany); great-grandchildren Ashlynn Weaver, Madison Edmundson, Karis Weaver, Kaia Ingalls, Conner Towery, Kollins Weaver, Kopelynn Weaver, and Cayden Towery.

There will be a socially distanced visitation at Davidson Funeral Home's Hickory Tree Rd location on Tuesday, September 21, from 5 to 7pm. The funeral will take place at 2pm on Wednesday, September 22 nd at Center United Methodist Church in Welcome.

Memorials will be given to Center United Methodist Church Community Missions (PO Box 179, Welcome, NC, 27374).
