Tyler Ross Thompson

April 22, 1921 — May 6, 2019

Tyler Ross Thompson, 98, of Adams Street, died Monday, May 06, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.    A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, May 8 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Donnie Chapman.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.    Mr. Thompson was born April 22, 1921 in Stanly County to Tyler Fleet Thompson and Nolie Gertrude Ross Thompson.  He was veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II.  He owned and operated Thompson’s Garage for many years and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Mocksville.  His wife, Virgie Smith Thompson, and his grandson, Jeff Thompson, preceded him in death.    He is survived by his sons, Steve Thompson (Jeanette), Michael Thompson (Betsy) and Danny Thompson (Vicki) all of Lexington; his brothers, Vick Thompson (Ruby) of Linwood, and Phillip Thompson of Norwood; his grandchildren, Katie Waldrop (Steve), Brian Thompson (Lisa), Elizabeth Howard (Joe), Craig Thompson (Kristie), Wendi Forshee (Shane) and Tyler Thompson (Alyssa), Stefanie Copley (Scott) and Shane Hathcock; 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jerusalem Baptist Church, 3203 US Highway 601 S., Mocksville, NC 27028.
