Una Bell Miller

Una Bell Cook Miller, 81, a beloved mama, mawmaw, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at her home.

She was born on February 3, 1945, in Catawba County, North Carolina, to the late Ira McLean Cook and Frankie Lail Cook.

Una found profound joy in the simple things in life. She was a woman of many talents who loved sewing, tending to her flowers, and beautifully decorating cakes. Above all, she treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her happiest moments were spent entertaining her family and filling her home with warmth and love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Roger Dale Miller, and an infant sister, Margret Cook.

Those left to cherish her beautiful memory include her son, Greg Miller (Jennifer); her daughters, Lora Miller (Woody Hudson), and Jeanne Surratt (Rusty Welch); her sister, Patricia Koontz; four beloved grandchildren, Charlie Goforth (Heather), Nikki Everhart (Lee), Wesley Miller, and Zane Miller; and two precious great-grandchildren, Isabell and Lincoln Goforth.

The family wishes to extend a deeply heartfelt thank you to Una’s special neighbors, Johnny and Sam, for their kindness and care.

A funeral service honoring Una's life will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel, with Rev. Keith Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
