Vada Josephine Craver Brown, 93, of Brookstone Retirement Center, formerly of Briarcliff Drive, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the retirement center.
A service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Jay Belk officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brown was born February 7, 1918, in Davidson County to Emory Lewis Craver and Hethie Berrier Craver. She was a charter member of St. Timothy’s United Methodist Church and was very active in her church as long as health would allow. She was retired from Davidson County Library. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Brodie Brown Sr., who died in 1971; and brothers, Roby Craver, Ray Craver, Belvin Craver and Odell Craver.
Surviving are sons, Lewis Brown and wife, Jana, of Linwood and Brodie Brown Jr. and wife, Mary Louise, of Lexington; grandchildren, Lynn Brown Everhart, Martin Emory Brown, Mark Lewis Brown and Melissa Brown Ruffo; and four great-grandchildren.
