Vaudy Curry Byerly

Vaudy Thelma Curry Byerly 92 of Lexington passed away Sunday October 28, 2018 at her home.

A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday November 1, 2018 at Good Hope United Methodist Church where she was a member conducded by Revs. Joseph Fulk III and Chris Bennett and Chaplain David Kolb. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 1-2 pm Prior to the service at the church. At other times the family will be at the home of her daughter.

Vaudy was born April 27, 1926 in Davidson County to Floyd Alex Curry and Lettie Thelma Swicegood Curry. She was retired fron United Furniture. At her church she was a member of The Unity Circle, The Willing Workers Sunday School Class and had taught Sunday School. Her parents, husband of 73 years, Odell Byerly and a daughter, Rosa Mae Byerly Hanes all preceded her in death.  Also preceded in death by a son in law, John Hinkle and her brothers and sisters, Eugene  and Julius Curry, Francis Foster and Shelby Walser.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda Hinkle of Lexington. Her grandchildren, Diana Crotts  (Greg), Phil Hanes and Kathy Rose Embler. Her great grandchildren, Tiffany Crotts, Timothy Crotts, Whitney Williams (Shawn)  and Blake Corn Also a great great granddaughter, Raelyn Williams and her son in law, Johnny Hanes. Her sisters, Lavonda Seamon of Southmont and Doris Ward of Lexington.
