Vavaneen Huggins Lewis

Vavaneen Huggins Lewis, age 92 of Archdale Drive, Lexington passed away Thursday at Alston Brook Nursing Home.   Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2017 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Armstrong and Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 PM Sunday, prior to the service.   Mrs. Lewis was born in Spartanburg County, SC to Josiah and Anna Corn Huggins. She was the retired owner/operator of Vavaneen’s Beauty Shop in Inman, SC, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Johnny Odell Lewis on February 2, 2008; a sister, Rosa Westbrook; brothers, A.Z., Melvin, Emmanuel, Dallas and Iman Huggins.   Surviving are her daughter, Judy Hench and husband John of Lexington; grandson, Chad Hench and wife Donna; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Emily Hench; a sister, Lillian Zufelt of Pinetta, Florida; 11 nieces, 7 nephews, 8 great-nieces, 14 great-nephews and 1 great-great-niece.
