Veda Mearl Cartrette Owens

Veda Mearl Cartrette Owens, 69, of Riverview Blvd., died Thursday, February 02, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son on Jr. Order Home Road. Mrs. Owens was born March 9, 1942, in Columbus County, to John Samuel Cartrette and Millie Agnes Richardson Cartrette. She was retired from Henry Link Furniture and a member of Psalm 91 Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Paul Miller who died in 1977. Surviving are a son, Rickey Dean Miller and his wife, Joyce, of Linwood; grandchildren, Brianna and Makayla Hailey; brother, Elbert Cartrette of Clarendon; and sisters, Gladys Cox of Loris, S.C., Mildred Suggs of Clarendon, Estelle Soles, Sadie McGirt, Shirley Winebarger, all of Lexington, and Eudell Cribb of Chadbourn.
