Vell Livengood Jones, age 75 of Horseshoe Neck Road, Lexington passed away Sunday night December 6, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, and other times at the home.
Mrs. Jones was born February 26, 1940, in Davie County, to Earnest Webster Livengood Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Myers Livengood. She was retired from Stanley Furniture after 38 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, James, Gilmer, Holbart, Henry, Earnest Jr., and Maynard Livengood; and sisters, Zaddie Long, Earline Grubb, Pauline Walser, and Lavelle Hendrix.
Surviving are her loving husband Roger Jones of the home; daughters, Kimberly Edwards McDowell and husband Johnny and Tangela L. Jones, all of Lexington; one grandchild, Shea Farabee; brother, Frank Livengood and wife Edna of Mocksville; sisters, Mary Ruth Snider and husband Harvey of Linwood and Sylvia Rae Smith and husband Jack of Lexington; sister-in-law, Janie Mae Livengood of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Diane Walser and Lisa Curry.
