Venita Berrier Pressley, 85, of Carl Pressley Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Brian Center Nursing Home after an illness of six months.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Greers Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Lori Ann Bowden and Dr. Gary Gibson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Pressley was born, Aug. 26, 1921, in Davidson County to Charlie W. Berrier and Mae Link Berrier. She was a retired employee of Erlanger Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Fellmont Pressley, on April 2, 1986; a son, Rayvon Pressley, July 20, 1990; a daughter, Helen Stone, Sept. 24, 1992; and a sister, Ruby Shoaf.
Surviving are one son, Gene Pressley and his wife, Gail, of Southmont; two daughters, Vickie Stone and her husband, Rex, of Lexington and Linda White and her husband, Robbie, of Clinton, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jake Berrier and Alex Berrier, both of Lexington, and Lawrence Berrier of Arcadia; and one sister, Dot Bates of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home of the son at 10090 N.C. Highway 8 and a daughter, Vickie Stone, 832 Carl Pressley Road.
