Vennie Arnold Goins

Vennie Arnold Goins, 68, of Devonshire Drive Lexington, died Sunday January 13, 2013 at his home after a 6 month illness. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday January 16, 2013 at First Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Vernon Smith and Rev. Dewey Everhart Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Mr. Goins was born June 29, 1944 in Avery County to Will Goins and Sylvia Ingram Goins. He was retired from PPG and a member of First Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers; Paul Goins, Milton Goins and Henry Goins. Surviving are his wife Judy Goins of the home, two daughters; April Goins and fiancé Wille Hepler and Ashley Goins both of Lexington, two brothers; Sam Goins and wife Clara and Willy Goins both of Lexington, four sisters; Betty Wrenn, Becky Crotts and husband Bryce, Heidi Kepley and Maxine Leonard, all of Lexington, one grandchild, Zebulon Allen of Lexington and special friends Alicia, Amy, Zachary, Daniel and Jacob.
