Vera Lucille Walker Medlin Everhart, 100, of Louya Road, Lexington died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in Hinkle Hospice Home after a four month illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Bill Shrout, Jr. and Rev. Bill Sosebee officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Everhart was born October 6, 1912 in Davie County to Charlie Paul Walker and Bertha Mae Beauchamp Walker. She was a retired weaver for Dacotah Cotton Mills, and was the oldest member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ. Vera had a strong work ethic, unconditional love for her family and friends and such a great love for life. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Clyde Willis Medlin, Nov. 8, 1961, and her second husband, Lloyd Everhart, her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Patsy Medlin, a grandson, Allen Charles Medlin and four sisters, Helen Ijames, Dorothy Morphis, Eva Mason and Marguerite Walker.
Surviving are two sons, Ken Medlin and wife, Martha, Joel Medlin and wife, Catherine both of Lexington; five grandchildren, Guy Medlin and wife, Susan, Kay Brown, Randy Medlin and wife, Debbie, Terri Sosebee and husband, Mark all of Lexington; Amy Clickner and husband Craig of Charlotte; seven great grandchildren, Jason Medlin and wife, Stacey, Kevin Medlin, Gabe Brown, Adam Medlin, Tiffany Williams and husband, Josh all of Lexington, Mary Catherine Clickner of Charlotte and Seth Sosebee of Charleston, SC; three sisters, Selma Hamilton, Inez Beck and Regina Burkhart all of Lexington and many nieces and nephews.
