Vera Louise Long Owens, 65, of Foxcroft Drive, died Sunday, August 30, 2015, at her home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Doug McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and other times at the home.
Mrs. Owens was born August 27, 1950, in Mecklenburg County, to Robert Ellington Long and Ruby Lee Broome Long. She was a Nurse’s Assistant at Sunbridge Nursing Home. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Daley.
Surviving are her husband Carl Leon Owens of the home; sons, Jimmy Daley and wife Tabatha and Phillip Daley, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Felicia Daley, Sarah Daley, Gracie Crooke, and Chase Daley; her mother, Ruby Lee Broome Long; brothers, James Long, Michael Long, both of Lexington, and Robert Long and wife Kathy of China Grove; and sister, Teresa Smith and husband Terry of Salisbury.
The family would like to thank the gentlemen who have agreed to be pallbearers, Brian Long, R.D. Long, Steven Long, Ryan Williams, Tyler Long, Jason Long, Patrick Long, and Hunter Long.
