Vergie Poole Cox

Mrs. Vergie Poole Cox, 71, of Lick Creek Church Road, died on Friday, December 13, when God called one of his angels home. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, December 18 at Clear Springs United Methodist Church by the Revs. Scott Davis and Sandy Young. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Lick Creek Church Road, Denton. Mrs.Cox was born May 19, 1942 in Davidson County to Lee Roy Poole and Etta Grubb Poole. She retired from Link-Taylor Furniture and was a member of Clear Springs United Methodist Church. Her parents and a brother, John Poole, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, James Preston Cox of the home; her daughters, Wanda Cox of the home; Amy Newton and Vicki Eads and husband, Michael, both of Denton; her brother, Lee Poole, Jr, and wife, Sarah, of Denton; her sisters, Lillian Sears of Salisbury, and Martha Westbrook and husband, Douglas, of Denton; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
