Verna "Nell" Koontz Leonard

Nell Leonard age 84 of Lexington passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. A funeral service will be held 3pm Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Center United Methodist Church with Revs. Dr. Stephen Pillsbury and Eddie Evans. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the funeral home. Nell was born June 19, 1930 in Davidson County to Odell koontz and Hattie Lucille Davis Koontz. She graduated from Welcome High School and retired with Davidson County Schools. A long time member of Center United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Joe Glenn Leonard, son; Bobby Joe Leonard, sister; Becky Hartman (Grady) and brother in-law Wayne Clodfelter. Surviving are her daughter Sherry Thrift ( Jackie) of Arcadia, granddaughter; Bridget Thrift Quinn ( Tony ), sister; Frances Clodfelter.
