Vernell Briggs Bailey

HEADING NAME:  Vernell B. Bailey   Vernell Briggs Bailey, age 82 of Joan Drive, Lexington passed away Monday evening at Lexington Health Care.  A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday (8-20-2008) at Beck’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with The Rev. David L. Martin officiating. Mrs. Bailey was born in Davidson County, February 20, 1926 to Robert Lee Briggs and Sadie Mae Workman Briggs. She was a member of Beck’s Lutheran Church and a retired employee of Krohler Furniture.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Lawrence Bailey, brother Cleo Briggs and a sister Elise Essick. Surviving are: son; Don Bailey and wife Marie of Lexington, daughter; Sylvia Tobiasz and husband Chris of Hickory, NC, three grandchildren; Matthew Bailey, Cheri Henry and Amelia Stout, 2 great grandchildren; Koaldin and Kyah Payne, one brother; Clifton Bruce Briggs of Lexington and one sister Carolyn Collett of Thomasville.
