Vernita Larie Buie

Vernita Dunning Buie, age 83 of Southmont Pond Road, Lexington passed away March 10, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House.

A celebration of life will be held later.

Mrs. Buie was born February 9, 1941, in Davidson County to William Adam Dunning and Sadie Everhart Dunning.

Vernita retired from Davidson County School System and was a member of Stoners Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband; William Stanley Buie, brother William Allen Dunning, his wife Kathern, brother in-law, Arnold Potts.

Surviving are sons, Randall Buie, Gary Buie and wife Tammy, sister, Wilma Potts, 2 grandchildren; Carl Buie (Nikki), Hannah Simerson, 5 great grandchildren; Maddie Ketner, Maverick Buie, Ada Simerson, Willow Simerson, Finley Simerson and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Hinkle Hospice of Davidson County and Janice Owen for their passionate care.
