Vernon Ball

Vernon Dale Ball, 70, of Michael Rd, died Thursday, August 4 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A graveside service with military rites will be held at 10 am Thursday, August 11 at Salisbury National Cemetery by the Rev. Tommy Robbins. Mr. Ball was born January 6, 1952 in Guilford County to Clara Ball Caviness. He faithfully served his country as a member of the US Army, 82nd Airborne, where he received a commendation medal. He was a member of Rolling Heights Baptist Church. His brother, Sanford Ball, Jr., his sisters, Wilma Ball Metters, Frances Ball Tucker, Dorothy Ball Owens, and Geraldine Ball Watson, and his brother in law, William Brown, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Harchar Ball of the home; his step-daughters, Deanne Kirk, Becky Tysinger and Laura Yarbrough, all of Lexington; and his sisters, Barbara Ball Bennett (Jerry) of Reidsville and Becky Ball Brown of High Point.
