Vernon Andrew Hinkle

Vernon Andrew Hinkle, 76, of Welcome Bethesda Road, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August, 17, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Mr. Hinkle was born April 10, 1937, in Davidson County, to Mary Maglene Wilson. He was retired from Lott Steel. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his step-father, Herbert Wilson. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Patra Burkhart Hinkle of the home; son, Ritchie Hinkle and wife Carol of Stokes County; daughters, Christie Eller and husband Eddie and Becky Laws, both of Lexington; six grandchildren, Brent Laws and wife Kelly, Aaron Laws, Kendra Eller, Austin Hinkle, Mason Hinkle, and James Blackard; and his stepmother, Ruth Wilson of Lexington.
