Vernon Dallas Worrell

Mr. Vernon Dallas Worrell, age 83 of Hunters Point, Lexington, NC died Saturday, November 17 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 21 at Pauls Chapel Evangelical and Reformed Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Aaron Long.

The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mr. Worrell was born October 13, 1935 in Surry County to Woodrow Worrell and Phoebe Gates Worrell.  He was a  U S Navy Marine Corpsman veteran.  He worked for 9 years as a Winston-Salem Policeman and retired as a supervisor with Stroh Brewery.

He is survived by his wife Clara Leonard Worrell of the home; sons, Vernon Woodrow Worrell of Lexington and Scotty Joel Worrell of Georgia; special son, Tim Finney of Lexington; step-daughter Amy Thomas of Lexington; sister, Brenda King of King; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
