Vickie Gathings

Vickie Lynn Kluttz Gathings, 70, a resident of Lexington, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Vickie was born on February 1, 1951 in Rowan County to the late Homer and Grace Kluttz. She loved going to the beach, camping, and when she was younger, she enjoyed water skiing. Vickie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Spencer Moose Lodge and was of the Lutheran faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barrie Gathings.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 2:00PM at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Vickie is survived by her children, Barrie “BJ” Gathings, Jr. of Lexington, James “Brent” Smith (Robin) of China Grove, and Nathan Ensley (Rebecca) of Salisbury; a brother, Randy Kluttz (Becky) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Wade Smith, Elijah and Alexis Ensley; and step-grandchildren, Brandy Ashley, Krystal Johns, and Mahaley Humphreys.
