Vickie Spears Leonard

Vickie Spears Leonard, age 54 of Dalton Drive, Lexington died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after one year of declining health.   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug McGee officiating.   The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home of the daughter, Candy Burkhart on Wind Chime Court.   Mrs. Leonard was born March 15, 1957 in Davidson to Andrew Spears and Vernie Church Spears.  She was a former cook for Golden Age Nursing Home. Preceding her in death was her parents, a brother, Leonard Spears, two sisters, Alma Staley and Jewel Dean Spears   Surviving are her husband, Gilmer “Buddy” Leonard of Lexington; two daughters, Candy Burkhart and husband, Chad, Andrea McIntosh and husband, Brandon both of Lexington; four brothers, Ronnie Spears, Nolan Spears both of Lexington, Roger Spears of Dobson, Jay C. Spears and wife, Bernice of Denton; two sisters, Sue Roseberry and Elena Fisher and husband, Donnie both of Lexington; three grandchildren, Josh Burkhart, MacKenzie Burkhart, Damian McIntosh; and a special friend, Jeffrey Clay Smith.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
