Victoria “Vickie” Kearns Rhodes, 65, of Floyd Church Road, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center following declining health.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Rhodes was born January 19, 1948, in Davidson County, to Gurnie Lawrence Kearns and Dorothy Ann Whitaker Kearns. She was a former employee at Lexington Furniture Company in the Stock Room. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mock Rhodes, who died February 5, 1998; brothers, Henry Kearns and David Kearns; and sisters, Virginia Dare Black and Evelyn Maxine Hill.
Surviving are daughters, Renee Byerly and husband Bobby, and Paula Farmer and husband David, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Victoria Ann “Tori” Byerly, Alexandra Denise “Allie” Byerly and Miranda Rose Farmer; brothers, G.L. Kearns Jr., Bryce Kearns, Larry Kearns, and Marvin Kearns, all of Lexington; and sisters, Ina Smith, Clara Walton, both of Lexington, and Patricia Marlow of Shalotte.
