Victor Smith

John Victor Smith, 90, of E. Center St. Ext., died Sunday, May 01 at Lexington Health Care after declining health of several months. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, May 3 at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ Cemetery by Rev. William Sowers. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Mr. Smith was born August 26, 1925 in Davidson County to Charlie Brantly Smith and Ethel Burkhart Smith. He faithfully served his country in the US Navy and later retired from Dixie Furniture. He was a member of Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ. His wife, Ramona Shaw Smith, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Smith Beck, of Lexington; his brothers, Gene Smith and wife, Theda, of Lexington; his special nieces and nephew; and his caretaker, Brenda Sizemore. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Hedrick’s Grove Reformed UCC, 3840 Allred Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
