Vincent Edward Applebee passed away Monday 7/18/2022 with his family by his side. He was born on November 8, 1936 in Grafton County, NH to George & Edna Applebee. Vincent’s family and friends will miss him dearly, and know that life will not be the same without him, but are incredibly grateful to have had so many years with him. He served in the US Army from Aug 1958 -Aug 1960 in Italy. As well as Oct 1961-Sept 1962 at Ft Devins, MA. He retired in 1997, after 30 years of service at Roadway Express.
His hobbies included fishing, raising various birds and rabbits, but his true passion for the past 60 years was Beekeeping. He was known in the community as “The Bee Man” in 1988 he was a co-founder of the Davidson County Beekeeping Association. He was inducted as a lifetime member in March, 2019.
He enjoyed sharing his expertise of Beekeeping to others. He always had a story to tell about the many adventures of his beloved hobby.
We would like to give a special thank you to Vincent’s caregivers and nurses in his final days. You are truly a blessing. Thanks for all the calls, texts and especially prayers from everyone. Please continue to pray for the family for the difficult days ahead.
There will be a visitation with the family 4:00-6:00 pm July 23rd at High Rock Church of Lexington.
A celebration of life will follow the visitation at 6:00pm. At other times, friends and family are welcome to visit the home of Bobby & Amy Clodfelter at 452 Courtney Lane Lexington, NC.
Proceeded in death by his parents; wife Patsy Applebee; son Steven Applebee; brother Carroll Applebee, and sister Rose Socha
Left to cherish his memory are his sons : Michael Applebee ( Wanda ) of Carolina Beach, NC; Mark Shell (Heather) of Morganton, NC; daughter, Amy Bentley-Clodfelter (Bobby) of Lexington, NC.
