Violet Marie Hamilton Burkhart, age 82, of Lexington passed away on October 5, 2025 , surrounded by loved ones at her home. She was born October 6, 1942 in Harnett County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude Canady Hamilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, R.C. Hamilton, and his wife, Caroleen, as well as her sister, Elizabeth Ann Woody, and her husband Kenneth.
Violet was a woman whose life was a testament to devotion, kindness, and joy. As a dedicated wife and mother, she found her greatest fulfillment in the love and laughter shared with family. Her adoration for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent in their company. Anytime her grandkids stopped by she would always begin cooking a meal for them which she so much enjoyed. Grandma’s house was a warm and caring home. A woman of faith, Violet loved the Lord with all her heart. Her salvation, faith, and walk with God was her strength. She was a member of the Grace Journey Church of God of Prophecy in Lexington for over 60 years. Her church family was very dear to her heart. Violet retired from Lexington Homebrands in customer service where she had many special friends that she loved working with.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 64 years, Johnny Garland Burkhart, of the home; her daughter Pamela Ann Stout (Rick) of Asheboro; her son Garland Lamont Burkhart (Alanna) of Lexington ; nine grandchildren, Brandon Burkhart (Kelly), Kameron Burkhart (Brandy), Kristopher Burkhart (Tiffani), Tyler Stout (Keisha), Landon Burkhart (Mary), Caleb Stout (Caitlin), McKenzie Burkhart, Dylan Motsinger (Brooke), Alicia Motsinger; seventeen great-grandchilden, GG Burkhart, Challon Burkhart, Jackson Burkhart, Brady Burkhart, Lucy Burkhart, Harrison Burkhart, Emilee Stout, Konner Burkhart, Ella Cate Stout, Natalee Stout, Holden Stout, Baker Burkhart, Evan Stout, Noah Burkhart, Oaklyn-Marie Burkhart, Baby Stout on the way, Madison Motsinger, Avery Jernigan. Many nephews and nieces she loved deeply.
The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Journey Church of God of Prophecy, 1000 E. Center Street Extension, Lexington, NC, with Bishop Gerald Shean officiating, Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to service at the church.
