Violet Shirley Byrd

Violet Byrd, age 73 of Rhodes Road, Lexington passed away Saturday December 5, 2015 at her home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday December 9, 2015 at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service. Violet was born in Davidson County April 29, 1942 to Edward Shirley and Lillie Mae Varnadore Shirley. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Lexington Health Care. Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don Edison Byrd on May 15, 2012 and brothers James, Edwin and Howard Shirley. Violet is survived by her son, Mark Byrd and wife Minnee` of Welcome; daughters, Amber Almond and husband Keith of Laurinburg, NC, Sandy Hedrick and husband Joe Don of Lexington; grandchildren, Carmen Hedrick, Matt Byrd, Sarah Almond and Chase Almond; great-grandchild, Roper Hedrick; sister, Joyce Baldwin of Lexington; brother, Curtis Shirley of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews.
