Violet Dale Hanes Foust, 93, of Craver Road, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at Abbotts Creek after several months of declining health.
A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Good Hope United Methodist Church by the Revs. Kevin Hanes, Tim Robbins and Lauren Anderson and Lay Speaker Caroline Hanes Fordham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and other times at 307 Weaver Drive.
Mrs. Foust was born April 21, 1921, in Davidson County to John Marvin Hanes and Rosa Mae Zimmerman Hanes. She was a co-owner of Welcome Exxon and after retiring helped with Mrs. Hanes Moravian Cookies. She was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church, where she was organist for 75 years, a life member of Women's Fellowship, member of the church choir and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Davidson County Home Extension. Preceding her in death was her husband, William A. "Bill" Foust Jr. on Sept. 9, 1990.
Surviving are daughter Janice Foust Moore of Lexington; two grandchildren, Haley Foust Moore and William Cramer Moore, both of Lexington; and three brothers, John Marvin Hanes, Guy Hanes and Travis Hanes, all of Lexington.
