Violet Allison Kennon

Violet Allison Kennon, age 78, of Frog Pond Drive, Lexington passed away Tuesday night (February 15, 2011) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after an illness of 10 years. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday (February 19, 2011) at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Sammy Allison Sr. and Sammy Allison Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service and at other times at the home. Mrs. Kennon was born in Rockingham County, March 28, 1932 to James Richard Allison and Fallena Jane Moore Allison. She was a retired employee of United Furniture and of the Pentecostal faith. She loved crocheting and her dog Daisy and also loved reading her Bible. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Violet Jane Muse and Vicki Diane Kennon, sisters, Annie Allison, Alice Saunders, Virginia Sawyers and Pansy Applebee and a brother James Allison. Surviving are; one son, Robert (Bobby) Kennon of Florida; one sister, Nellie Pulliam of Reidsville; two brothers, Johnny Allison and wife Edith of Jamestown, and Sammy Allison and wife Diane of Lexington; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister in law, Bennie Ann Allison of Greensboro.
