Violet Pauline Knouse

October 22, 1911 — April 7, 2007

Miss Violet Pauline Knouse 95, of South Union Grove Road in Arcadia, died Saturday, April 7, 2007. She was born Oct. 22, 1911, to Jacob T. Knouse and Sallie Sink Knouse. She spent her entire life in Davidson County. She was a faithful member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the choir. Miss Knouse and her two sisters sang as the Knouse Trio. She had been an active member of the United Methodist Women (Women' s Society) since it was first organized, and a member of the Suzanna Wesley Bible Sunday School Class. While Miss Knouse never had children of her own, her nephews and nieces became her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Opal K. Miller and Ila (Bill) K. Leonard. Surviving are two nephews, Kent B. Miller, of the home, and Steve K. Miller and wife Nancy, of Arcadia; three great-nephews, Todd, Ronnie, and Donnie Miller, of Arcadia; and a great-niece, Michelle Gregory, of Welcome. The funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 in the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Denton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service until 8 p.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. The family would like to express grateful appreciation to Mallard Ridge Assisted Living Center in Arcadia; the nurses and staff of the Lutheran Home in Winston-Salem; and Hospice of Forsyth County.
