Violet Essick Todd

Violet Essick Todd 80 of Winston-Salem, Arcadia community passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her home.  A funeral service will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Hopewell Moravian Church with Pastor Walter Bishop and Pastor Robert Hutchens officiating.  Burial will follow in the church graveyard. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Violet was born in Forsyth County on July 29, 1936 to the late Fred and Lucy Sink Essick.  She was a home maker and care giver and was a member of Hopewell Moravian Church.  She was also preceded in death by a brother Vernon Essick and a brother-in-law, Johnny Walser; a grandson, Brian Todd and daughter-in-law, Sandy Todd. Surviving is her husband David T. Todd of the home; sons, Barton Todd of Clemmons, Greg Todd of Winston-Salem, Shawn Todd (Michelle) of Winston-Salem; sister, Bernice Walser of Lexington; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC  27103. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Road is assisting the family.
