Violet Watson Watkins, age 91 of Dykers Creek Road, Lexington passed away Saturday afternoon, July 5, 2025, at Davidson Health and Rehabilitation after a period of declining health. A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday July 10, 2025, at the Lexington City Cemetery with Rev. Bill O’Neal officiating. Afterwards she will be laid to rest. There will be no public visitation. Violet was born in Grayson County, Virginia March 1, 1934, to William Conduff Watson and Gillie Virginia Arnold Watson. She was a member of Calvary Family Worship Center and was a lady of many talents, one of which led her to have her own business, Calligraphy Graphics. She was a devoted mother and a friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Lawrence Edward Watson and sisters, Mary Hartley and Hattie Vanderford. Surviving are her loving son Jamie Todd Watkins of the home; daughter, Tammy Watkins of Lexington; granddaughter Heather and great-granddaughter Cheyenne. To honor her wishes her request was that you dress casually and be comfortable and you may make memorials to her church or a charity of your choice.
