Virgie Beck Everhart

Virgie Lee Beck Everhart, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at her home in Winter Haven, Fla., due to a stroke. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Reformed Church by the Rev. George Fidler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Everhart was born on Aug. 1, 1917, in Davidson County to Reuben Hill Beck and Cordia Conrad Beck. She was retired from J. F. Ward Company after 25 years of service. Before moving to Florida, she was a member of the Ida Conrad Class at Pilgrim Reformed Church. Her husband, Clyde Everhart, sisters Margie Beck and Mary Bell Patterson, and brothers Theo Beck and Freddie Beck preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, Dr. Hugh Everhart of Winter Haven, Fla.; and sisters Anita Shillinglaw and Ava Shillinglaw, both of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Pilgrim Reformed Church, 797 Pilgrim Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or Good Shepherd Hospice in Memory of Virgie Everhart, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
