Virginia Barnes

Virginia Jarrell Barnes, 78 of Broadway Road, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Brookstone Nursing Home after declining health. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Clyde Akers. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Barnes was born in Davidson County on April 26, 1937, to Troy Clyde Jarrell and Esther Elizabeth Arnold Jarrell. She was retired from Coble Dairy after 35 years of service and was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother J.E. Jarrell. Surviving are her husband of over 40 years, Billy Dean Barnes of the home; son James Timothy McCarn (Mary Anne); granddaughter Megan McCarn of Tampa, Florida; brother Clyde Wayne Jarrell (Carol) of Lexington; and sister Marie Eddinger (Ray Von) of Lexington.
