Virginia Barney

Virginia Nannie Cole Barney, 77, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Forsyth Medical Center. Virginia was born on March 24, 1944 in Davidson County to the late William Ted and Pearlie Walser Cole. She was a homemaker for many years. Virginia was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Barney.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2021 in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. Virginia will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 63 years, Levi Barney, of the Home; a son, Mickey Barney of Lexington; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.
