Virginia Blanton Branham, 70, of Westside Drive, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Britthaven of Davidson after an illness of four years.
A private service will be held Thursday, February 4 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Branham was born October 19, 1939 in Pender County to Jack Blanton and Mamie Pearsall Blanton. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Her brothers, Alton Ray Blanton and Hubert Martin Blanton, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, General Marion “Chockie” Branham of the home; her son, Mark Blanton of Lexington; her grandchildren, Preston N. Blanton, Brandon P. Blanton, and Courtney M. Blanton; her brothers, Earl Lee Blanton of Lexington, Larry Wayne Blanton of Asheboro, and Rufus Dawson Blanton of Ridgeville, SC; and her sisters, Norma Faye Broxton of Wilmington, NC, and Judy Alivia Lewis of Andrews, NC.
