Virginia "Carol" Griffin

Virginia “Carol” Kiger Griffin, 80, a resident of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Carol was born in Davidson County on October 26, 1941 to the late Robert and Grace Hanes Kiger. On February 2, 1963 she married the love of her life, Larry Gray Griffin. Carol was known to be the backbone of her family. She was a loving, kind, funny, and sweet person who loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson, Zach Griffin.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Union Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation, however, the family will greet friends at Carol and Larry’s home. Davidson Funeral Home in Winston-Salem is assisting the family.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Larry Griffin of the home; a daughter, Kim Poole of Lexington; a son, Danny Griffin of Lexington; a sister, Nancy Miller (Steve) of Lexington; two grandchildren, Justin Poole (Jenna) and Sean Griffin; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Sammie, and Georgia Poole.
