Virginia Miller Crouse, 89, of West Fourth Avenue, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 24, at Davidson Funeral Home, by Dr. Jim Martin. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Crouse was born April 1, 1919, in Davidson County, to John Early Miller and Sallie Belle Morris Miller. She was a graduate of Linwood High School and Catawba College. Mrs. Crouse was a retired teacher having taught at Hoffman, Tyro and Lexington City Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church; UMW Circle 1 and served on the Altar Guild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Seaford Crouse who died in 1976; a brother, Eugene Morris Miller Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Smith Miller.
Surviving are nephews, Eugene Morris Miller Jr. of Jamestown, John Allison Miller of Carolina Beach and Charles Crouse of Kannapolis; and a niece, Myra Allen of Columbus, Ohio.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
