Virginia Dare Koontz Hedrick

Virginia Dare Koontz Hedrick, age 93 of West Center Street, Ext. Lexington passed away Monday December 11, 2017 at her home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 Pm Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Paul’s Chapel Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she was a member with Rev. Aaron Long and Rev. Jimmy Norred officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday night. Virginia was born in Davidson County August 14, 1924 to Charlie Gilbert Koontz and Irsla Angress Pickett Koontz. She was a homemaker and a retired hairdresser working at The Beauty Nook and Kates Hairdresser Salon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J.W. Hedrick in 1999; sister, Linnie Coppley and brothers, Lacy, Lonnie, Conrad, David, J.C. Koontz. Surviving are sons, Jay Kelly Hedrick (Debbie) and Gregory Neal Hedrick (Norma) all of Lexington; daughters, Belinda Hale (Phillip) of Winston Salem, Pamela Deitz (Nathan) and Melissa Hedrick-White (Greg) all of Lexington; 7 grandchildren, Brenn Hedrick (Nickie), Brandon Hedrick (Jen), Tiffany Michael (Robert), Andrea Smith, Sterling Hedrick , April Hale and Katie Hale; 9 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Braden, Emory, Summer, Timothy, Lettie, Vada, Lorna and Bailey; and special friends, Nancy Swing, Jane Byerly, Jonell Hayes and Tammy Gonzalez.
