Virginia was born on September 12, 1935, in Davidson County, to the late Carl Defoy Miller and Hazel Wagner Miller. She worked for Brass Craft for many years until her retirement and was a member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church.
She was a dedicated wife and mother to her family and was given immense joy by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Her greatest accomplishment in life was the love that grew within her family with each new generation.
Virginia enjoyed taking trips with her late husband, Bobbie, and her family to the mountains where they would spend time relaxing and having fun with one another. The scenic drives and views of nature were always a joy she shared with those she loved.
Along with her parents, she is reunited in death with her husband, Bobbie Everhart; son, Rodney Defoy Everhart; and brother, Jerry Miller.
Left to carry on her legacy are her children, Teresa Shelton (Browder), of Lexington, and Jeff Everhart, of Lexington; sister in law, Brenda Miller; grandchildren, Jodi Young (Chris), of Lexington, Jennifer Berrier (David), of Lexington; Vanessa Gay (Darren), of Faith, and Alisha Good (Calib), of Virginia; great grandchildren, Hannah, Tanner, McKenzie, Makala, and Taylor; great great grandchildren, Evelynn, Brooklynn, Lili, Mavin, and one on the way.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Kay Leonard, Teresa’s sister-in-law, for all the time spent caring for the family and for Virginia over the years and especially the last few months. Her servant’s heart was a blessing to the entire family.
A special thank you also to Alderwood Hospice for their compassion and professionalism as they provided dignified care for Virginia. Her team went above and beyond to provide care for her and for her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Alderwood Hospice, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
