Virginia "Jean" Lee-Basham

Virginia "Jean" Lee Basham, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. She was 86 years old.

Jean was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and loyal friend. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and was known for her warm heart, wonderful cooking, love for video games, and staying connected with friends and family on Facebook.

Born on December 22, 1938, Jean was the daughter of the late Hoy Cebern and Mary Margaret Lee. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David A. Basham Sr., and her sister Joan Welborn.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, David A. Basham Jr. (Debbie) of Myrtle Beach;; grandchildren, Jamie Basham and Michael Basham (Taylor); and her great-grandson, Ben Basham.

A graveside service honoring Jean’s life will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Benny Sprouse officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, in appreciation for the compassionate care they provided.
