Virginia Lee Metcalf Long, 66, of Lakeview Drive, Marion, died Friday, September 4 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, September 8 at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Rev. Don Bledsoe. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Long was born February 27, 1949 in Davidson County to Albert Metcalf and Pearlie Mae Watkins Metcalf. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Her husband, Huey Long, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Jacob Long of Granite Falls; her daughters, Jennifer Biggs of Marion and Stacey Clark (Robert) of Hildebran; her sisters, Linda Rucker (Lou) of Arcadia, Jean Parnell (Weldon) of Lexington, Retha Hill (Ray Von), Sue West, and Judy Wagner; her grandchildren, Bradley Clark, Kahla Clark, Dade Biggs, Lyric Biggs, Mailey Arrowood, and Zoey Arrowood; and her great-grandchild, Braydon Seagle.
