Virginia Martin

Virginia Hinkle Tesh Martin age 87, formerly of Thomas Road, Welcome passed away Saturday, (May 31, 2008) at Sunbridge of Lexington. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at Center United Methodist Church, where she was a member. conducted by Rev. Clay Morgan and Rev. Hal Varner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born in Davidson County, October 7, 1920 to Charlie Emmanuel Hinkle and Maude Craver Hinkle. She was a homemaker, active in United Methodist Women and a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Step Mother Grace Gobble Hinkle, first husband George Augustus Tesh who was killed in action during World War II and her second husband Philip E. Martin who died in 1997, and by two brothers Pete and Paul Hinkle. Surviving are: Sons; Randall Tesh and wife Cheryl of Lexington, Terry Martin and wife Mary Sue of Welcome and Steve Martin of Winston Salem, Daughter; Vicki Sink and husband Lannie of Winston Salem, 10 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday night at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and at other times at their respective homes.
